you can Backslide.

 

(God is better than any gentleman – He will let you

out of the contract, if you want out.)

 

One of the best kept secrets in Wesley-Arminian

circles  is – you don’t have to Backslide.

(God loves you, wants to be intimate with you, and

will supply grace to overcome temptation.)

Frederick Martin Lehman – death, Feb. 20, 1953

The Love of God

The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen can ever tell;
It goes beyond the highest star,
And reaches to the lowest hell;
The guilty pair, bowed down with care,
God gave His Son to win;
His erring child He reconciled,
And pardoned from his sin.

And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall,
When men, who here refuse to pray,

Frederick Martin Lehman, died this date, 2/20/1953, at Pasadena, CA.

He was born 8/7/1868, at Mecklenburg, Schwerin, Germany.  He em­i­grat­ed with his family to the States (Iowa) at age four and was “born again” in Christ at age 11. After college (North­west­ern Coll­ege) Lehman pas­tored in Au­du­bon and Kings­ley (both Io­wa) New Lon­don, In­di­a­na, and at Kan­sas Ci­ty, Mis­sou­ri.

He was married to Emma Louise Dermyer (1868-1951). Lehman is said to have penned and published hundreds of songs – three of the better known are the above, “The Royal Tel­e­phone,” and “There’s No Dis­ap­point­ment in Hea­ven.  He founded (or helped found) the Nazarene Publishing House.
