Jim Elliot on this date, 3/15/1950, is said to have written in his journal

“The believer is a displaced person. He loses the controlling features of both environment and heredity.”

Elliot leads the alphabetical list of the five American missionaries martyred in Ecaudor: others were Pete Fleming, Ed McCully, Nate Saint, and Roger Youderian.
