Miles (or Myles) Coverdale on this date 10/4/1535 published his English version of the Bible (later known as the Coverdale Bible). Coverday, a printer and Lutheran preacher, then 47, probably had it printed in Zurich, Switerland. He was a good translator and served on two other translation committees. Miles was born in 1488 and died in February (buried 2/19/1568).
