King Henry VIII (of England) on this date, 10/11/1521, received from a certain bishop of Rome (one called Leo X) the title “Defender of the Faith” as a reward. A few years later Henry III was considered an enemy of Rome for an action he took. Be said action right or wrong, this shows not only the fickliness of men but also of men who are religious leaders. God only is infallible.
