ASV – For in the resurrection they…in marriage, but are as angels _______ in heaven.

 

There are bad angels as well as good. The bad were in heaven – dangerous not to distinguish between satan’s and God’s.

Translation Trouble – Mat 21.32

 

 

AV “For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.”

 

NKJV – For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him. But tax-collectors and harlots believed him. And when you saw it, you did not afterward relent and believe him.

 

“Relent” and “repent” are NOT the same.  This modern substitute for the Classic Text is misleading.

Verse is totally omitted in NIV, RSV, BBE, TCNT, Weymouth & in italics (as not original) in ASV.

 

Did revisers think it unnecessary to record all they could of Christ’s words?
