Behind the king is the far greater KING.

[1] Readers – do NOT take this ’07 poem as Approval of what is in WDC or American statehouses (no more than Russian governments).   In all our dissatisfaction (how much are we praying? L) we need to be reminded of what Paul wrote in Rom. 13, and that he lived under a worse government than ours.

Translation Trouble – Act 2.30

AV “Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;”


NIV But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne.


There is a lot of difference between Christ

and “one of his [David’s] descendants.” 


The NIV is based on the Alexandrian manuscripts (Alexandria is in Egypt, a type of sin). 


The AV is based on the Antiochian manuscripts.  Antioch is, of course, where “Christians” received their name and an early center for Christianity.
