HE WAS KING

He was King to rural peasants in pastures lush or bare,

Shepherds bound to a timeless trade.

He was King to men who give tender love and care,

Whether ‘long mountain trail or thru creeks they wade.

He will be King of a City with a million square miles,

The gates will be pearl, the streets will be gold.

Because of their King the dwellers all have smiles,

He redeemed them by His resurrection long foretold.

A crucifix is not the answer.  It is an attempt to fix a moment of time – man can’t do that and God hasn’t.

AV “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.”

NKJV – Who exchanged the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

The poor readers of the NKJV could get

the impression it is either/or.  The AV

is right because sadly, in this life,

people have multiple gods and even

supposed “worshipers of God” actually

worship man (sports, Hollywood,

political figures) MORE than they

worship God.
