ON September 19th

Hudson Taylor sailed for China (from England) on 9/19/1853 to be a missionary. When did he arrive? He got to Shanghai on 3/1/1854. Taylor was the son of a chemist who was also a lay Methodist preacher. 

He went through a brief period of skepticism but was converted to Christ at seventeen after reading a tract in his dad’s apothecary.  A few months later he made a complete consecration to do God’s work.

Hudson Taylor Quotes:

We are not only to renounce evil, but to manifest the truth. We tell people the world is vain; let our lives manifest that it is so.

We tell them that our home is above and that all these things are transitory. Does our dwelling look like it? O to live consistent lives!
