George Muller – born

ON THIS DATE

One of the greatest men of faith since the NT was born; George Muller 9/27/1805, near Magdeburg, Germany.  1825 he was converted to Christ from a wastrel, criminal life under the preaching of the Moravians.  He began an evangelistic work among Jews and children.  Within a few years he had moved to Bristol, England, which he made his permanent home.  For 66 years he cared for orphan children, relying completely on prayers and private donations.

At his death, his personal assets amounted to less than $1,000 (not hard for some of us to achieve) but, BUT he had disbursed the equivalent $8 million US dollars to missions and charities, and cared for 10,000 orphans (possible only through God).
