Country songwriter Carl Stuart Hamblen was converted to Christ 10/18/1949. He was so well converted that he stopped drinking and “running around” and accepted being fired rather than air a beer commercial on his radio show. After this he penned “This Old House” which I well remember being popular.
Hamblen wrote “How Big is God?” and “They That Wait Upon the Lord.” One of his favorites is “It Is No Secret What God Can Do” (reportedly associated with a conversation with John Wayne).
