Be like the potato:

Well rounded

Have eyes – for the glory of God   

White on the inside (regardless of color outside)

Be a “stable” in people’s lives

Don’t be surprised of you get cut or peeled.

If they mash you – be good

If they fry you – be good

If they bake you – be good.

ON THIS DATE

Country songwriter Carl Stuart Hamblen was converted to Christ 10/18/1949.  He was so well converted that he stopped drinking and “running around” and accepted being fired rather than air a beer commercial on his radio show.   After this he penned “This Old House” which I well remember being popular.  

Hamblen wrote “How Big is God?” and “They That Wait Upon the Lord.”  One of his favorites is “It Is No Secret What God Can Do” (reportedly associated with a conversation with John Wayne). 

The chimes of time ring out the news

Another day is through

Someone slipped and fell

Was that someone you?

It is no secret what God can do

What He’s done for others He will do for you

With arms wide open He’ll pardon you
