Mysterious Way

ON THIS DATE

On January 20, 1943 two towns recorded (as far as known) the largest temperature variance in the shortest distance on earth.  At Lead, South Dakota it was a plus fifty-two (52) degrees Fahrenheit.  At Deadwood, South Dakota it was a minus sixteen (-16) degrees Fahrenheit.  Lead and Deadwood are 1.5 miles apart (have been to both towns – left part of my heart in SD).  Truly –
