God made man in His likeness & HE pronounced His creation, including man, very good

When we hang man-made decorations or tattoos on our bodies we are saying to God,

I think I look better with paint, or jewelry or tattoos” (in the same general category). 

Friend, YOU are disagreeing with God (Gen 1.26 & 31) – that is dangerous.  To The Extreme!

ON THIS DATE

Anna Laetitia Waring died 5/10/1910.  She was born 4/19/1823 at Neath, Glamorganshire, South Wales to Mr & Mrs Elijah Waring.  She was raised a Quaker but somwhere after he 20th birthday switched her allegience to the Church of England.  Her interest in Old Testament poetry was the inspiration to her learn to read Hebrew.  Anna was active in the “Discharged Prisoners Aid Society.”

It’s been said that “Few authors are so sensitive or shy of publicity as Miss Waring. She has written her heart into her hymns, but particulars of her life and education are concealed from us.” She wrote hymns in her teens and completed 39 of them by 1863.  They were introduced ot the American public by Frederick Dan Huntingdon about that same time. 

One of her better known songs was:

In heavenly love abiding, no change my heart shall fear. And safe in such confiding, for nothing changes here.

The storm may roar without me, my heart may low be laid, But God is round about me, and can I be dismayed?
