“Unless I can take it with me, I don’t want a thing.”
– Ruth Bryan (my mother), said at Fire Mountain Restaurant (6/25/04)
about food, but it’s true for all earthly things.
Worldly?

Are you worldly? You will not be worldly long.
Either we voluntarily give up the world for God (wonderful exchange!) OR the world will slip from our dying fingers.
Remember, “…the world passeth away and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever” 1Jo 2.17.

PREACHER’S KID

The devil has a bid, for every preacher’s kid
To tease, to trip, to trap.
His trap is carefully made, “innocently” overlaid
To spring, to seize, to snap.
“Reject your dad’s old ways; these are modern days”
“Be fun, be full, be free.”
Before the last “rock” is sung, before the snare is sprung –
Oh see! Oh hear! Oh flee!

Dumbed Down?
Posted in uncategorized, tagged Dumbed Down? on October 18, 2015| Leave a Comment »
Technical language is used in
Astronomy, Biology, Cooking, Dentistry, Etymology, Forestry, Geology, History, Internet, Jewelry, Kinetics, Law, Mathematics, Nutrition, Oncology, Paleontology, Quilting, Rappelling, Syriology, Teaching, Urology, Veterinary medicine, Woodworking, Yachting, and Zionism and YOU want God’s Word “dumbed” down?
(None of the above alone or combined equal the importance of the Bible.) Omitting three and four syllables words because they sound/ look “technical” is an insult to God and to His prophets, penmen, and poets across the OT/ NT centuries.
