Not living in the OT

Why should it be thought strange that Christians oppose war?
War Dishonors parents (slays sons), Kills men/women/children, allows Adultery/fornication, Steals land/seaports, Bears false witness (spies tell lies) and has roots in Coveting. More people have gone to hell than heaven of the 100,000’s of war dead.
If you accept war, you probably base it on some OT Scriptures. You desperately need to search the NT –
we’re not living in the OT.

A REVELATION

Give me the plain, the natural, the free;
The natural nature of earth, sky, and sea.
Give me the true, the honest, the pure;
In this age that trusts in “imitation’s secure.”
2
Relieve me of pretense and falseness and such,
As I see causing hustle, and bustle, and rush.
It is flash, and fancy, and funny faces,
That lack the grace, of the ageless graces.
3
I see the hollow objects of plastic and tin,
And the hollow lives showing ever so thin,
That fail to ring true to the stroke of time.
(A base metal, perhaps, in these “chaps of chime”?)
4
I hear flicker, and snap, zing, and click.
Rescue me sure and rescue me quick.
And give me in one last line I implore,
The real, unostentatious, now and evermore!

They are making the right decision

* A REQUEST *
Some reader(s) has a husband/wife who was raised in a truly Biblical church and strayed. When they show interest in getting right with God and attending a Biblical church again, PLEASE do not stand in the way. If you do not want to go to heaven, I beg of you, LOVE your mate enough to not hinder them from going. They are making the right decision. It is a difficult one – their “hill” is steep. They may make mistakes in attempting to get clear with Jesus. You (sinner or hypocritical “Christian”) will be tempted to listen to your father, the devil, and make fun of their Christ-ward move. Don’t.
As a former pastor/Bible teacher, as a father/grandfather, I ask you to consider this SEROIUS request. If you won’t encourage your mate to be a genuine Christian, do not discourage them. Your mate was made for Heaven; don’t be so selfish as to try to take them to hell with you.
Thanks for reading.
