How Sad

It is a disappointment when a pastor or professor backslides (openly or secretly).

It’s more disappointing when a child, in his youthful un-wisdom, leaves his parent’s narrow way.

But perhaps the most disheartening action is when a parent shows no better judgment than to turn from Jesus to the wicked world in mid-life or after.

[1] Keith R (Roger) Bryan (b 11/20/1936), my only brother, was killed (5/24/1954) in boot camp at Fort Lewis.

Note: my opposition to war did not come till a year or so after this poem.
