“It is when there is no revival
that it is difficult to get men to enter the ministry
or to go to the mission field…”

When you read a living author, the possibility exists of asking him/her what is meant with “said” passage. Ah, no One could possibly be more alive than God. No ONE.
So talk with Him today as you read/study His illustrious Book.

DON’T TURN THE POST
Posted in uncategorized, tagged DON’T TURN THE POST on February 9, 2016| Leave a Comment »
Now and then I see where prankster
Has turned a corner post;
And “Main” becomes “Franklin,”
And “Franklin” “Main” – almost.
2
Locals know that “Main” is “Main,”
Not turning where miss-signed,
And the turned-street labels
Make them to humor inclined.
3
But to the traveler on his journey
From his home to city far,
Doesn’t know the sign is wrong
And his day can fully mar
4
By the miss-labeled street.
He may turn and travel long,
Only to sadly learn
His miles and hours were wrong.
5
If the devil can spin the signs,
Call that “Narrow” which is “Broad,”
And call the “Broadway,” “Narrow”
Leading folks away from God.
6
Then satan may see them die,
Die despairing of Calvary’s cost,
Because they turned the wrong corner
And were forever lost.
7
Preacher, don’t be a prankster,
Turning the sign on the corner post,
“Winning” people by your humor,
Not preaching with the Holy Ghost.
8
And Traveler, oft check the map,
It the narrow and broad has told.
Remember, the adage is still true,
“All that glitters is not gold.”

God is not casual

Have you noticed
the trend of ministers in casual clothing at church? It has displeased me but a check with a dictionary shows that concern is right. Words/definitions associated with casual “…subject to, resulting from, or occurring by chance…occurring without regularity…met with on occasion and known only superficially…feeling or showing little concern…lacking a high degree of interest or devotion…done without serious intent or commitment…” – Merriam-Webster
** God is not casual. **
