“In proportion as true religion and piety from various causes declined in this century [sixth],
the external signs of religion and piety, that is rites and ceremonies, were augmented.”
– Johann Lorenz von Mosheim, from his Institutes of Ecclesiastical History
Light has no shadow

Light has no shadow AND shadow has no light.
If you have a shadow in your life, is it because something (or someone)
is blocking the Light from you?

I REMEMBER

Wandering Ohio’s woodlands
All alone and unafraid.
Getting my first check for working,
Such a “grown-up” way to get paid.
2
Staring at the dorm-room ceiling
City-lit — where I was used to dark.
Seeing Cincy from the Tower,
Playing tennis in the park.
3
Eating cookies, drinking hot drink,
After door bells, looking for a “winner.”
Smelling turkey strong in Tuesday’s air;
Preparing for Hilltop’s big day dinner.

BE CONTENT
Posted in uncategorized, tagged BE CONTENT on February 10, 2016| Leave a Comment »
It is not always carnal
to want X, Y, Z, but unless you are disciplined, it can lead to financial discontent and weaken you spiritually. BE CONTENT.
Your food will taste better, your clothing “fit” better, and your shelter seem better if/when you learn to BE CONTENT.
Merchants and salesmen have so little power over you when you walk away, smiling, without their “middling, temporary fix” BECAUSE you are CONTENT.
