Matthew 6. 5 – 6

“And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

“But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.”

It should not be the minister’s “job” to give your family hope at your memorial service.

Your life, whether in happiness or pain, in beautiful sunshine or abundant rain, should have been so Christ-like, so Biblical, that family knows you went where you were preparing to go.

(Sadly, sinners also go where they’re preparing to go.)

Bad AND Good

“Bad News.”

No man, no matter how great his imagination or supposed clout, can make you a saint, now or 1000 years from now.

Not going to happen.

“Good News.” No man, no matter his political or religious position, nor his work/family relationship to you, can keep you from being a saint.

It is UP to you!
