You Give Them Hope

It should not be the minister’s “job” to give your family hope at your memorial service.
Your life, whether in happiness or pain, in beautiful sunshine or abundant rain, should have been so Christ-like, so Biblical, that family knows you went where you were preparing to go.
(Sadly, sinners also go where they’re preparing to go.)

Ma! On, the happy ear received,
Mom, on the heart ever recorded,
Moma often thinks her efforts rigid,
Madre operates the home easily rewarded,
Mother occurs to help ease regularly,
Mother’s own touch: heaven’s earthly royalty.

Bad AND Good

“Bad News.”
No man, no matter how great his imagination or supposed clout, can make you a saint, now or 1000 years from now.
Not going to happen.
“Good News.” No man, no matter his political or religious position, nor his work/family relationship to you, can keep you from being a saint.
It is UP to you!
