The Word

Matthew 6. 7 – 8

“But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

“Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.”

Is the leadership of your church moving (slowly or rapidly) toward the world? Or, is your church being lead by people moving toward Jesus Christ?

Movement (either way) is reflected in the need (or lack) for the world’s games, “buzz words,” attire, music, attitudes about money, etc.

Better to have fewer leaders and them Godly than the concept of “using everybody” and non-leaders seeing worldly people helping set the church direction.

T Troubling to clothe, feed, and even

H Heal the child of flu.

E Every need feeling and filling,

R Ready as always, and O, so willing.

Just returned from Cincy.

Drove about 2 hrs this AM to be at Christian Nation Church with our daughters, their husbands, and several children. Sis Eisenhart was in charge of passing out gifts to every mother and pretty flower baskets were give to various mothers who had X, Y, or Z “qualifications:” Both daughters “won” in their “categories:” Mother with the most email friends, Heather with @1500 fb friends 🙂 and Mother with the most coupons in her purse, Laura with 50 :). For the main service Bro Eisenhart invited yours truly to the platform to pray the congregational prayer after which a friend of many yrs, Sharon Campbell Hutchinson, sang a Mother’s Day song and later our “kid” sang a second Mother’s Day song. Bro Eisenhart’s message dealt with the scene of Christ’s mother at the cross. A quote from him is “Love is the soul of courage.” Afterward my wife and I enjoyed eating a meal which the two families put together. Good food, great fellowship, and gracious treatment of Moma for Mother’s Day!
