A short distance many times is not sufficient to determine if a line is straight or curved.

Extend the line and it evident.

Moral: See where the idea originated, try to logically visualize the ultimate result, and the straightness or crookedness will become clear.

The Calvinist idea

that all actions short of the absolute perfection of God are sin is not correct.

One cannot steal from his neighbor (an overcoat for example) and “love him as himself.”

But one can mistakenly take his neighbor’s coat (return it when he sees his mistake), and love him as his neighbor at the same time.
