Job 1. 16 – 19

“While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, ‘The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.’

“While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, ‘The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.”

“While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, ‘Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house:

“‘And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.’”

The Holy Maker vs the wicked faker

God is THE Maker. He made the very real earth, sky, sea, and the reality of mankind. The devil is THE faker; he’s associated with non-reality = images. “Images” whether 2 or 3 dimensional, whether stationary or movies connect to the father of fakery, satan himself. Never in the history of man have we been so plagued with moving (cartoon and other) imagery. The entertainment industry is almost exclusively moving imagery and some of modern education is augmented by drawings/paintings in place of reality.

Death is so final

I, as you, have taken 100’s of exits

off of the interstates/limited highways. Most of these allowed me right back on. A few have required me to go a 1-3 miles before I could get back on.

Soon you and I will take an exit off of the Road Of Life. The exit of death has no re-entry. None. Death is the most final thing we know about on earth. “Prepare to meet thy God” (Amo 4.12).
