You are unique

 

There are scores of ways to categorize humans. You place me in this or that slot, and I’m tempted to put you in that or this, but there is no member of God’s vast creation more individualistic than man. Socialists,  statists,  educators,  industrialists,  politicians, and yes, even  preachers see men as “movements” (a non-Biblical word) or parties.

God sees you as the unique soul you are.

Brief Beauty

For a brief moment only,

A butterfly landed,

Before it expanded,

Its wings and moved on.

But that moment revealed

Such orange and black splendor,

Such structure, such form,

As only a Creator could render,

That one wonders why, with butterflies around,

Atheist, agnostics, or their kind can be found.

And another thought persists on presentation,

Such beauty, though of such brief revelation,

Was still beauty.

Beauty, howe’er brief it may be,

Is still beautiful to see!

Friend, your life and mine,

Though complexed and completed by activities of time,

Is just as short by eternity’s standard,

As the moment an insect spent before it bounded.

Make it beautiful, friend, make it remembered by,

The color and structure, and years from now

“Really cool” church?

Supposed statements – “Jesus, I want You to go with me to this ‘really cool’ church.

They have purple lights and they pulse.  Their 5 piece band’s drummer is so great he also plays for a rock group.  When they have dramas they use dry ice or something that looks like the smoke may have looked in Tabernacle of Israel.  And the pastor, between the way he dresses and the words he uses we’d never know he was a preacher.  His jokes, why – – – oops, I ‘bout forgot I was talking to You Jesus.  Anyway, we hardly realize we’re in church anymore.”
