Going, Going, Gone!

We ALL lose “the world.” The repentant sinner loses “the world” at his place of salvation.

The un-repentant dying sinner loses “the world” as it is pried from his/her cold, clasping fingers.

O, Please, Sir, Ma’am, lose it the first way (not the second). “Good bye, old world.”

FATAL PUSH

Sports have added to hell’s role

If nothing else, through pride alone.

Many a parent/child has lost his/her soul

Proud of points in the end zone.

The desire to see a name in print

Has driven men to the fatal push.

Looking back from hell’s long, lone “sprint.”

“Out sports. Vanish.” That’s their wish.

Come back to the pastorate

Friend (this is not addressed to any one individual), did God lead you to be a pastor?

If you are not pastoring now, did He distinctly lead you (through ill health/otherwise) to retire?

If YOU can pastor but are not pastoring “what in the world” (purposeful wording) are you doing?

Please pray about getting back into the pastorate. There are churches needing seasoned men; churches that are hurting for that shepherd’s heart. Leave that moneyed job and re-enter the Harvest Field. Please make it a matter of earnest prayer.
