Jer 2. 12 – 13

“Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the LORD.

“For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.”

Our precious Lord was not hated and then killed for His beatitudes or parables, per se, but for Who He was (and claimed He was) – the Son of God. Nor, if we are truly Christ-like, will our “Christian teachings” save our lives. The same type of group who hated Him will hate those who are covered by His blood and proclaim the liberty such wonderful forgiveness gives.

THE LAMB

He is the Lamb before Creation’s first bright morn,

Slain (theologically) before born.

Christ is the Lamb of Revelation,

Lamb (more than Lion) in designation,

He’s the Lamb who wore the crown of thorn.

Christ is your Friend. How wonderful. The possibility is of “spending” eternity with your Best Friend (a literal “BBF” said with respect). If, heaven forbid, you go to hell you’ll “spend” eternity with your enemy. Don’t think for one moment satan loves you. (Truth be known, I doubt he loves anyone, including himself.)

YOU’LL NEVER KNOW

You’ll never know the victory’s glory,

Nor the triumph of ground won,

Till you’ve know the battle “gory,”

Till you’ve fought your way through one.

You’ll never know true lightness of heart,

Nor the face lit up, serene,

Till you’ve know the aching part,

Till you’ve faced the tremor keen.

You’ll never know the beauty of relieve,

Nor prayer’s answering calm,

Till you’ve born the load of grief,

Till you’ve tarried beyond – tarried long.

It is obvious to many

that you and your family (dad, mom, grandparents – one or all) have taken different approaches to worldliness. Your family made a purposeful choice to be separate from much of earth’s trappings. You drifted into the world, went deeper, and now are part of its mirth and froth. Allow me to pose two scenarios 1) Necessity took you to an island to live alone (or just mate/kids): peer pressure all-but-disappears. 2) God, you KNEW it was God, let you know death would come in three months.

Please allow either scene to reveal how much of your worldliness is to be accepted by worldly “friends.”
