“Going to need a birth certificate – if you don’t have one, get one.
Going to need a death certificate (walking light of holiness).”

Sweet on Sweet Potatoes

As I dug sweet potatoes this late afternoon I was reminded of an old friend. (Some of you knew him too. 🙂 ) The Alabama Bible Methodist, to which I belonged for 30 yrs, had its ministerials in various churches. This was something my wife and I enjoyed – seeing what this church looked like and that, staying in assorted home, etc. I mention this because my guess is that the yr I envisioned was at Stanton. Someone brought in oiled/buttered oven-baked sweet potatoes and Bro Agan was picking up the little finger-size ones and enjoying then like candy. Loved him and liked the memory as it floated o’er the mind-waves today.

“No” to Fascination

Don’t let a fascination
For this world or any nation
Hinder your full salvation.
This earth is NOT home!
Christ has complete liberty
From OT-style rituality
For every “you” and for me;
Never turn toward Rome.

It took words to say that

“A picture is worth a thousand words.”
(Google states that Fred R Barnard, of Printers’ Ink, 3/10/1927 said, “A picture is worth ten thousand words” a British advertiser.) 1000 or 10,000, is it True or False?
1.) It took words to say that; Please let that soak in. I can’t imagine (I have a fair imagination) how many pics it would take to properly convey the entire concept of those seven(7) words and 3 of the 7 have 2 letters or less. We live in an age of pictures but they’re over-rated. (Lord willing, #2, #3 will be continued in another post.)
