*Past Poems Celebrating the Birth of Christ*
MADE IN HIS IMAGE INCLUDES ETERNITY
The vast Lord of glory in Eden’s prime story
Decided a wonderful plan.
Make sun for a light, and make stars; yearly insight,
And end with a creature named man.
2
He’s God, undefined. He has wisdom un-mined.
He’s dependent on nobody’s whim.
So, how He made Adam (and his rightful madam)
Was totally “OK’d” by Him.
3
That marvelous King, that majestic, Sole Being,
Invested a portion of God;
His image, His likeness, He opened in kindness;
Example for men made of sod.
4
Some weak, lowly creatures imagine God’s features
To really include hand or pate.
Far greater expressions include “love” and “truthhood”
Ability “to think,” “create.”
5
Not least in “the acre” man shares with his Maker
Is life ever-lasting for saints.
Invited is mankind, Eternal grace to find
With all of the rest the Word paints.
6
Before man’s sad failure Christ’s death bought a sure cure
Eternity’s next “half” is man’s!
This Christmas rejoice much His coming thus brought such
Fulfillment. His “image” still stands.
