Your body is the basket in which your soul is carried;
Your soul lives forever, your body is soon buried.
In life these two cooperate
In death these two separate.
Do not cut nor cut off your body’s brittle life
Do not embitter nor break your soul with strife
The body is important but keep it in its place.
The soul’s far greater, apply for, accept, God’s grace.
