Dan 7. 27

“And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.”

Irenaeus quote

“…the second in which He will come on the clouds, bringing on the day which burns as a furnace, and smitting the earth with the word of His mouth, and slaying the impious with the breath of His lips, and having a fan in His hands and cleansing His floor, and gathering the wheat into His barn but burning the chaff with unquenchable fire.”

Sin is dangerous

Sin is dangerous. Sin is dangerous in the bar room, on the dance floor, at the boxing match. These (and sadly, many other places) may be seen as the natural haunts of sin. Is there a more/most dangerous place to find sin? Yes. The most dangerous spot is when sin is welcomed in church. There are preachers preaching and congregations practicing sinning religion – claiming/proclaiming they’re headed for heaven but because they allow and condone sin, they’re actually headed for hell. That is DANGEROUS!

No escaping

Life as we know it will soon slip away;

Try to disown it – there comes a final day.

No one successfully has side-stepped death;

All our forefathers ran out of life’s breath.

God only holds for us, the Hopeful ray.

“…Be not conformed to this world…”

(Rom 12.2). When the Holy Spirit points out an article of clothing, a fashion of your hair, a form of your worship, an expression of your speech, an abuse of your time, a waste of your money is worldly, you, as a child of God, are willing, yea wanting to leave these for better things. Fifteen seconds (if we’ll have an idea of such in eternity) inside heaven you’ll be glad you did or

just inside the charred gates of hell you’ll be sorry you loved this rotten world more than God and His illustrious Word.

Holy Trinity

All Three of the Trinity occur in at least 13 verses starting with

Joh 1.33 “… He [Father] that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, & remaining on him, the same is He [Son] which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost” [3rd Person of Godhead] and ending with Jude 20-21 “…praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for…mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.”

Advice – to a lady dating hoping for marriage and to engaged lady. When he takes you to a restaurant pay attention to the food he orders. Don’t make tangible notes (that could raise suspicion) but make mental notes. Enquire during/after a meal how he liked THAT. This is more important in visiting a buffet. When he returns to the table a 2nd time with the same meat, veggie, pasta, or dessert it’s a sign he likes THAT. After the wedding “perfect” THAT for him. A healthy man likes to eat and also likes it that his bride’s a good cook. I married a pretty girl in 1961 who, to my pleasure, has been a great cook as well as lover.

HOLY THREE

Never question the great Unity

Of the Holy, Happy, Triunity.

Father, Spirit, and Son

Are really, wondrously, One.

And One are also Three,

Somewhat like you and like me.

We are body, spirit, soul;

But we appear only as whole.

God is all Father, Son, Holy Ghost

They are not More. They are Most.

Dad’s mother, “Mom B” (we weren’t allowed to call her grandma),

worked a few years as “girl’s matron” in a mental hospital, when I was a lad. We’d visit some Lord’s Day afternoons; I was introduced early-on to the idea of some being mentally deficient. Later I visited hospitals where some were physically deficient. As a pastor have I seen some spiritually deficient? Probably. It’s better to love, even “waste” (tongue-n-cheek) love than to write them off as hypocrites. At times mentally and physically limited souls are doing the best they can. God knows who are spiritually doing the best they can.

I’m very glad He’s the Final Judge.
