Un-natural Age

We live in an Un-natural Age: dog and cats have replaced human babies,* science fiction has replaced creation, males have replaced wives, females have replaced husbands, life-time-playing has replaced productive-work-life, indoctrination has replaced learning, paper (fiat) money has replaced gold, religion has replaced personal righteousness, and the list could continue.

* Not a slam against husband/wife couples who can’t procreate.

Sports have invaded the church

One of the least preached verses in 1Co 13 is 11,

“When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.” Paul like us all was once a child (nothing wrong with that.) But unlike too many (even in holiness circles) Paul grew up. To “put away” is purposeful. He wasn’t deprived of childish thinking but chose adult thinking. Toys were not taken from him but he willfully moved into maturity. Some men in our circles seem unaware of how big the “god of sports” has grown.

Never in my memory have sports been as deeply invasive among us, as now.
