Dearth of discernment
Posted in uncategorized, tagged dearth of discernment on March 10, 2017| Leave a Comment »
It was in the 50’s (I’d guess) I heard of making money like this -“If I could buy him for what he’s worth and sell him for what he THINKS he’s worth…” This speaks of personal pride. Much later I became aware that some men were “selling for more than they were worth.” This speaks of public perception (or lack thereof 😦 ) – a widespread dearth of discernment. The first hurts that man. The second hurts many, especially youth who are depending on adult wisdom and not getting it.

Friend Abraham took his good son,
God tested; God found He had won.

* E. Andrew Bryan’s term – he called it the first “World Class Ram.” Good idea.
The desire to be a Godly man

The desire to be a Godly man
is admirable and attainable for the perfectly obedient soul. (This desire is best left unexpressed or at the max, expressed only to his mate.) The desire to be known as a Godly man is carnal and hopefully never achieved. The church does not need any more guys angling to be lauded as “deeply spiritual.” But oh, how we need men and women who in private, perhaps in the middle of the night, are finding God closer, finding His fellowship sweeter, and finding His gold mine inexhaustible.
