It was in the 50’s (I’d guess) I heard of making money like this -“If I could buy him for what he’s worth and sell him for what he THINKS he’s worth…” This speaks of personal pride. Much later I became aware that some men were “selling for more than they were worth.” This speaks of public perception (or lack thereof 😦 ) – a widespread dearth of discernment. The first hurts that man. The second hurts many, especially youth who are depending on adult wisdom and not getting it.
