2 Pe 1. 19 – 20
“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
“Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.”
Body, Brain, SOUL

The human body is a fantastically complicated “machine” (millions of parts, moving and non-moving, all alive) which “houses” as part of it, and in some ways separate from it, the brain. The brain is host to the mind which is capable of approaching a nearly unlimited imagination. And the body/brain duo (compatible and yet somewhat incomparable) mysteriously “harbors” the deathless, developing, divinely-linked “item” we call the SOUL. All God’s creation!

“You are in danger…if you depart ever so little from Scripture…
from the plain literal meaning of any text taken in connection with the context.”

Woods

Woods always have “color.” In the spring comes the hint of buds in pinkish/purple pastels later mixed with the tinge of chartreuse leaflets. Summer has tones of green then green-upon-green on massive trees, lesser brother trees and forest undergrowth. Fall isn’t the least bashful about its colors (spring’s are muted) and in a giving mood shares its brilliance with the forest floor. Yes, winter has its own woodsy colors – in the past I’ve called them “brownish-gray” or “grayish-brown” and never quite decided which is most fitting.

RESURRECTION’S COMING
Posted in uncategorized, tagged Resurrection's coming on April 8, 2017| Leave a Comment »
Religious law had had its way,
In the form of Caiaphas’ Court.
“Guilty!” They condemned Him, before day.
Bigotry of the basest sort.
They broke their law, they bent their rule,
The devil had found some useful tool.
chorus:
Resurrection’s coming.
Don’t you forget it.
It will be here in a little bit.
And it will be never ending.
Yes, Resurrection’s coming.
Night can last but so long.
v2
Pilate listened with some respect,
Found Him not guilty by his law.
Seemed as though he might protect,
But pressure found its pitiful flaw,
And Barabbas was released.
As reward to celebrate the present feast.

You went WhErE?!?
Would Jesus go there? Seriously? Would He have paid as much money for a seat as you paid? Would you have been embarrassed for Him to see what YOU saw? Do you honestly think Jesus would’ve enjoyed the noise (you called music) or applause/whistles/riotous atmosphere? When you stood to boo or yell boisterous approval do you think Jesus (if He’d gone) would’ve joined you OR would’ve remained calmly in His seat?
Have you all-but-forgotten that being a “christian” is being Christ-like?
