“Not forsaking the assembling…together…”(Heb 10.25): select the assembly in your geography which best fits your theology and hymnology, and one which God also visits. Do not pick the one with the most square footage or the most people in the pews (nor even the one with pews). Yes, you’ll have to close your eyes to short comings but settle for nothing less than Truth being paramount there and God being worshipped there.

Master “Word-Smith”

God is the Master Maker of animals/plants, of sky/seas but never forget He’s also the Master “Word-Smith.” No created being: in heaven, on earth, in hell comes close to God’s ability to express Himself. As we read His wonderful Word, use words (do not neglect groanings) talking to Him, and meditate on the old hymns, He allows us to increase our proficiency in this, His important field. Vocabulary matters.

Parental advice

Do not assume

that all I post relates to me being a teacher. Nor assume that all is posted because I’m a minister. Before and after either, I was a dad. And now I’m a “gramp” (18 times) so – – – some of what I post may relate to fatherhood or “gramphood.” I’ll express an opinion at times that doesn’t relate to sin but may be parental advice someone needs, and thanks to the anonymous nature of SM (social media), they can receive it (or leave it) without letting me know.
