Captain of my Salvation, Jesus Christ

We’re in a war – not referring to carnal rockets or ships. Paul wrote, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood…” (Eph 6.12a). It’s not my job, as a Believer in Christ, to detract from or defend earthly “kingdoms” – it IS my responsibility to stand firmly with the Captain of my Salvation, Jesus Christ. His inspired Word is under attack. And His world creative actions are under attack. These two are more closely aliened than realized.

Has told them that wrong is “right,”

Convinced them that day is “night,”

Painted black as “white,”

“Explained” that loose is tight,

Persuaded it is right to fight,

Argued that weakness is “might,”

Said ugly is a beautiful sight,

Called true peace “a fright,”

Made them “love” sin’s blight,

Materialism made them “high as a kite,”

And re-named low as some great height.

Mom – daughter

You have a daughter. Good.

God has given you a blessing and a responsibility. Mom, if you’re trying to live holy, do not dress her in worldly ways while she’s a girl (she “represents” you in public). If later she says, “Everybody dresses so-n-so,” don’t drop to the world’s level – she, as a teen represents you more, if anything, than when she was a girl. Do mothers dress their daughters as they wish they could dress? Are they “living again” through a daughter?

Do worldly, at-home-daughters reveal a mom’s worldly heart?
