Christianity is not about Excess: not excess of food (gluttony), not excess of drink (drunkenness), sex (outside marriage), not excess of sleep (laziness), not excess of “intellectual-ness” (vanity). Not Excess in anything, E-x-c-e-p-t love for our wonderful Christ, including His everlasting kingdom and His everlasting Word.

Old Friends

One of the pleasures in having old friends is an old memory you share. God and I are old Friends not, repeat, not because I’ve been a great guy but because He’s been forgiving of my blunders, my forgetfulness (and has remembered, as only He can, that I am but “dust”). This is the greatest Relationship of my life. God is my Friend and He’s “out of this world” yet ever present in my mundane, daily life. Thank You Jesus!

If you are into Nascar or Indy 500

it says something about you. If you prefer the racing of Florida greyhounds or the Kentucky Derby that also is insightful about you. But, Friend, if your greatest interest is “…the race that is set before us” (Heb 12.1) – this race to make heaven and avoid hell, that speaks the BEST about you. Amen? Ouch?
