A Quote From Luther

“Abraham’s bosom is the promise and assurance of salvation and the expectation of Jesus Christ;

not heaven itself but the expectation of heaven.”

Table Talk, p.8

Christians are neither Jew nor Gentile, now that we are followers of Christ. We are born-again men (saved from our backgrounds whether Greek or Hebrew.) We’re new creatures – we’re both above and beyond earthly roots.

– eab, 5/24/17

underside

Every leaf on yonder tree

Has an underside, we do not see

Except when pre-storm wind

Tilts and turns it on its end.

It’s as important as the top side

But prefers itself to hide.

People also have a side unseen

Till storm reveals it, gentle or mean.

– eab, 7/29/11

Only God’s great White Throne Judgment (Rev 20.11) will reveal the total damning influence of the movie industry (it IS a vast, foul, purposefully polluting industry). Its tentacles are far reaching, its money huge, and its supporters are often religious.

“…There is no holiness for man

unless it is based on the holiness of God.”

– L D Wilcox, from Profiles Wesleyan Theology

1Co 3. 17

“If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.”

The Lord made the 1st man without help. In my opinion, He since has wanted fathers & mothers to help Him make a man (& a possible husband) out of EVERY boy. Dad, please, PLEASE do not run from this responsibility. Man up (be all male yourself) & teach your son how to be an even better man than you are. This sissified world needs all the real men we can get. The likes of hollywood will not help, even churches may fail, but you can (with the strength of Christ) make a man of your son. DO IT!

A Quote From Luther

“Behold the Bridegroom cometh. God…will come with the dreadful day and

chastise the scorners of His Word.”

Table Talk, p.8

Before God made man, He made man’s clocks. He placed the sun, moon, stars high in the sky, where they could be seen by all. He made them emblems (not words), so they can be read by all. When the builders of the “tower of Babel” could no longer understand each other and dispersed, they could still read God’s “speechless” clocks: sun-daily, moon-monthly, stars-yearly.

DAMASCUS ROAD

With power and persecution’s goad,

Saul went down the Damascus road.

Religious? Yes, but incorrect,

He met One he did not expect.

Later, he reaped some what he’d sowed.

– eab, Jul 2006

We are NOW in the process of drawing closer to God – the Eternal, Real, Loving, All Mighty God,

OR we’re drawing closer to His enemy – the temporary, false, hating, and soon weak satan.

(And – – – we’re doing one or the other by Our. Own. Freewill!)

– eab, 6/14/17

“ ‘Everybody Talk’n ‘bout heaven ain’t g’in’ there.’

Yes, but everybody going there, is talking about it.”

– Orlow Webb, sermon, 5/1/1997

Php 3. 20

“For our conversation is in heaven;

from whence also we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ:”

Please don’t be fooled by “bigness.” Part of my heritage is having heard H Robb French preach many times. He reminded his audiences, only 8 were in the Ark (untold number outside) & that 10 righteous couldn’t be found in Sodom/Gomorrah. In the NT there were 1000’s at Pentecost but it may have been the exception. Christ could’ve had 12,000 disciples or 1200 but He had 12. He fed 5000 men (plus wives/kiddos) but there were only about 120 in the Upper Room. Thank God for a few 21st century holiness works which are pure and growing. Praise God. If however “bigness” is the goal, rather than purity, disaster looms ahead.

1# Christ is coming Again – I believe this with all my heart!

There’s a theory that Christ is going to return a 2nd AND 3rd time – it’s not stated that plainly – but the teaching of a secret/silent “rapture” in which saints’ll be swooshed away (they speak of “2 phases”) is #2, and then He’ll come back later to rule, is a 3rd coming. The roots of the rapture theory are not Scriptural, seem to go back to the reformation era, and then be revived by the likes of Darby & Scofield. Nowhere does Christ or any NT writer speak of “2 phases” or a 3rd coming. Be not deceived. – eab, 7/26/17

2# Christ is coming Again – One can believe in His coming without accepting any “rapture theory.”

The secret/silent rapturists emphasize being “…caught up together with them in the clouds…”(1Th4.17) but seem to ignore v.16 (context!) “…Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God…” Is Peter echoing Paul “…the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise…”(2Pe 3.10)? Notice the noises A) Shout, B) Voice, C) Trump are before the catching away. – eab, 7/26/17

3# Christ is coming Again – i would die before I would deny this pillar of Biblical teaching.

Christ warns about DECEPTION: Mat24.4“…Take heed that no man deceive you” Mar13.5“…Take heed lest any man deceive you” Luk21.8“…Take heed that ye be not deceived…” & Paul warns, “Let no man deceive you by any means…”(2Th2.3). These warnings seem more important if the antichrist comes first. (The great Steve Herron said, “The antichrist is not going to say he’s the antichrist”.) And listen to John “…deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles…”Rev13.14 – eab, 7/26/17

4# Christ is coming Again – Obviously I can be mistaken and I’m not un-Christianizing friends who disagree.

Have spent time across several yrs looking at the rapture theory & believe it dangerous. I offer no detailed replacement chart but a warning. If the one-world religious leader comes, convinces millions he’s “christ” & they receive his “mark…name…number…” (Rev13.17) 2 verses make more sense: Mat24.30 “…then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn…” AND Rev1.7 “…every eye shall see him…all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him.” I see a possibility they’ll mourn/wail because they’re damned. – eab,7/26/17

Little kids make themselves at home. They’ll take a seat, on that fancy couch, un-invited, at your most fastidious aunt’s upper-crust house. Watch them at a wedding move about (& maybe move out) of their “spot.” I recently saw a family pic where the only person seated was a little girl – on the edge of a porch. Christ wants us to be like little children. And He has gone to prepare a place for us. It will be a place where we can sit down, be comfortable, and Make. Ourselves. At. Home.

Ready?

A L Vess quote

A great while before my memory starts much of evangelicalism and the holiness movement were infected by Darby & Scofield. John Darby didn’t invent “the rapture theory” but he popularized it. Cyrus Scofield incorporated it in his “Scofield Bible.” Darby, though sadly mistaken, appears to have been moral. Scofield lead a life of crime (records of restitutions seem missing), deserted his 1st wife (& daughters) and remarried shortly after she divorced him. The history of the rapture/dispensational crowd is NOT pretty.
