A Quote From Luther

“Behold the Bridegroom cometh. God…will come with the dreadful day and

chastise the scorners of His Word.”

Table Talk, p.8

Before God made man, He made man’s clocks. He placed the sun, moon, stars high in the sky, where they could be seen by all. He made them emblems (not words), so they can be read by all. When the builders of the “tower of Babel” could no longer understand each other and dispersed, they could still read God’s “speechless” clocks: sun-daily, moon-monthly, stars-yearly.

DAMASCUS ROAD

With power and persecution’s goad,

Saul went down the Damascus road.

Religious? Yes, but incorrect,

He met One he did not expect.

Later, he reaped some what he’d sowed.

We are NOW in the process of drawing closer to God – the Eternal, Real, Loving, All Mighty God,

OR we’re drawing closer to His enemy – the temporary, false, hating, and soon weak satan.

(And – – – we’re doing one or the other by Our. Own. Freewill!)

“ ‘Everybody Talk’n ‘bout heaven ain’t g’in’ there.’

Yes, but everybody going there, is talking about it.”

– Orlow Webb, sermon, 5/1/1997

Php 3. 20

“For our conversation is in heaven;

from whence also we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ:”

Please don’t be fooled by “bigness.” Part of my heritage is having heard H Robb French preach many times. He reminded his audiences, only 8 were in the Ark (untold number outside) & that 10 righteous couldn’t be found in Sodom/Gomorrah. In the NT there were 1000’s at Pentecost but it may have been the exception. Christ could’ve had 12,000 disciples or 1200 but He had 12. He fed 5000 men (plus wives/kiddos) but there were only about 120 in the Upper Room. Thank God for a few 21st century holiness works which are pure and growing. Praise God. If however “bigness” is the goal, rather than purity, disaster looms ahead.
