A Quote From Luther

“I simply taught, preached, wrote, God’s Word; otherwise I did nothing…the Word so greatly weakened the papacy that never…or Emperor did such damage to it. I did nothing, the Word did it all.”

– Christianity Today, 3/17

Stop putting “Holy Bible” on the outside and a copyright on the inside. If it’s God’s Word it needs no copyright. If it’s man’s word admit it, and keep the copyright where you have it.

The enemy of our souls #1. is trying to keep our attention attached to this temporary, tangible world. He does NOT want us to catch a hint about the huge “world” of spirit beings, like himself, below us (using the tangible to tempt us). And, of course, satan does NOT want us to see the much bigger – how confining Hell must be, it is one large jail – freer, realm of spirit Beings above us.

– eab, 9/25/14

The enemy of our souls #2. Both the subterranean (evil) “world” and the Super-terranean (wonderfully good) “world” are, once there, permanent. The devil will use entertainment, recreation (there’s a difference), occupations, patriotism, “good works” and yes, even “church” to tether us to the tangible so we never notice nor enquire into the coming “worlds.”

– eab, 9/25/14

“Charles H Parman and [William] Syemour, the founders of the Tongues Movement in the U.S.,

both accused each other of receiving the gift of tongues from the devil.”

Rom 2. 29a

“But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter…”

What is the last book you read as a family? You don’t read together?!? For Pity! Sharing a chapter (or 2) a night is great way to connect, converse, and continue as a strong family. (Note: this is in addition to some portion of God’s illustrious Book.)

A Quote From Luther

“No greater mischief can happen to a Christian people than to have God’s word taken from them or falsified so that they no longer have it pure and clear.”

Table Talk, p.6

I don’t understand my marvelous brain (not said braggingly – I surely didn’t make it). The Creator made a fantastic body but the brain is more complicated by far. We are able to understand a little and that little is enough to tell us that we do NOT understand our brain or the mind that courses through it.

– eab, 5/9/17

Someday, life as for years we’ve known it,

Will all be gone in the twinkling of an eye.

The seed will grow just where we’ve sown it,

(For as a tree falleth so shall it lie)

And as a man liveth, be it good or evil,

As a man liveth, so shall he die.

– eab, Jul. ’74

War destroys. War destroys bridges and buildings. War destroys innocency and virginity. War destroys homes and food supplies. Sadly, none of this destroying is accidental. Destroying is such a part of war it even has a war ship called a “Destroyer.” Which of the above do you really like? Why then, do you honor war?

– eab, 6/4/17

“God is grieved; Jesus was grieved; the Holy Spirit was grieved; we certainly cannot anticipate any work of grace…above [this].”

– Howard Sweeten, from his book More Excellent Way

Mar 3. 5a

“And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, ‘Stretch forth thine hand.’ And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.”

Some of us have seen pride in a christian college, behind a church pulpit, or in another religious setting. If we’ll follow close to Jesus and by-His-mercy make heaven our home, we’ll never have to witness pride again. Not pride of Face or Place, pride of Race or Lace, pride of Pace or “Grace” again. No, Praise God, carnality will not be up there! Wonderful!

Sure death for Japanese beetles. After pinching these pests by hand (both/without cloves) last year I’ve found a solution. A pair of 1” blocks, approx. 2.5” x 2.5” have found a place at my grapevines. I’ve killed many beetles by approaching a leaf without moving it and suddenly clapping the blocks together (1 in right hand, 1 in left hand) with hopefully minimal leaf damage. (I knock the remains off the leaf.) Hopefully the smell of dead comrades is better than commercial traps which, as I read, attract beetles.

You can love going to church and, will be there tomorrow “with bells on.” You can love working on/for the church. You can love the pastor of the church, people of the church, programs of the church, and NEVER be 100% in love with Jesus Christ. Church and churchy connections can “stroke” you carnality. Christ will never do that (be warned, a false “christ” will.) Do you love Jesus? Enough to obey Him (Joh 14.15)?

Probably no generation since the printing of Bibles has had less Scripture memorized than this one. Sadly, this includes professed “christians.” AND – no generation has known more names, faces, and even quotes of sinful actors, ball players, and comedians, etc. than this one, again, including souls who “claim to know” Christ. I beg of you, be a notable exception to this wicked, worldly trend.

The Bible is rich in lives of sinner and saint.

It gives details of cultures, both ancient and quaint.

Makes requirements (not for finicky or the faint).

Speaks of the Holy Spirit – not some evil haint.

Encourages the “rosy,” natural look – not paint.

Blind? er, what?

Somebody does NOT want you to go to heaven

(his children even occasionally say “go to h_ _ _”). He’ll do anything he can to keep you out, all out of spite to Heaven’s King. SOME ONE else wants you go to heaven and gave His Son to make your entrance possible, as a redeemed soul. Only the blind cannot see this – – – but be encouraged, Jesus touches the blind who ask for His Spiritual healing.
