A Quote From Luther

“If Christ be not God,

then neither the Father nor the Holy Ghost is God…”

Table Talk, p.77

Re-enforcing reminder #1 (is it a revolting reminder?): the Lord gave us knees. They’re a God-given “body-line” for a lady’s skirt – once a skirt is raised above them there’s no natural place to stop. A lady’s skirt should cover her knees both while standing & sitting. This is without except. A minister’s wife with her knees showing? Why? At-home-daughters of christian leaders with knees showing? Why? Have our pulpits become silent? Have our dads become blind to this immodest trend?

Re-enforcing Reminder #2 (is it a revolting reminder?) God gave us elbows. Once a person shortens his/her sleeves above them there’s no natural stopping spot. I plead with leaders/leaders wives, christian teachers/wives PLEASE lower your sleeves – be a better example to youth/new converts. Have you noticed: sleeves moved from just above elbows, to T-shirt length, to “cap” sleeves? Sin? That’s between you & God. Poor taste? Yes. High society sees short sleeves as informal (except gal with gloves above elbow J).

ancient Book

I’ve found an ancient, timely Book;

On Its pages I daily look.

It gives advice for married folk,

Agrees that salt goes with the yolk,

Encourages a carefulness,

Lifts one up when in distress.

Gives wisdom to all who ask.

Wearing Its “yoke” is not a task.

Will you also read this great Book?

You’ll never regret Its way you took.

People who give the impression that they know all about God are lying to you. And sadly, too many who think that they know God are lying to themselves. But, Praise the Lord, we can Know Him and so Love Him that we Learn more and more about Him. That, Friend, is what is important.

“Only he who believes is obedient

and only he who is obedient believes.”

– Dietrich Bonoeffer, COST OF DISCIPLESHIP

Joh 14. 23

“Jesus answered and said unto him, ‘If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.’ ”

God is the only Being who is wholly complete in-and-of Himself. He always has been complete and will always be so. Man, without God, is horribly incomplete but Christ has provided that we have the New Birth. It begins an eternal process of becoming entire. Being filled with the fullness (as full as our little vessel then can be) of the Holy Spirit is “step two” in this eternal journey to wholeness.
