There was an era when Holiness was fearlessly expounded across the world by Methodist-style churches & some not that “stripe” but who yearned to be holy. This brought resistance. Preachers & people fought against the eradication of carnality; they wanted to retain their pride etc. The preaching of holiness has been somewhat replaced with “feel good about yourself” talks. We need a new “crop” of tell-it-like-is Holiness preachers & we need them Yesterday!

Any “taking on” of either Jewish or Gentile ways indicates a backsliding, a going back toward the OT.
