Heb 9.27 + + + +

Heb 9.27

“…it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”

Who knows the “mind” of satan – no One but God. It would seem the more satan can attract our attention to the world’s sizzle & flash, spin, & bash the less we’ll think about Death. Judgment. Hell. Eternity. If this assumption is correct, please pastor, do not make your church another spot for entertainment. Make your church the one place sinners will hear truth & can stop long enough to have serious thought & prayer.

– eab, 2/28/18

“…When he [the sanctified man] consents to submerge his own personality in the generalities of social religious or denominational conduct he has consented to his own elimination as a factor in God’s hand for bringing things to pass.”

– H A Baldwin, /Holiness & the Human Element

Do you know that JESUS —

Left the place of spectacular worth

To come down, come way down to our earth.

(Though He once traveled through Egypt’s sand

He never sinned the sins of said land)

He not only lived, but Oh! He died.

(A death known as being crucified)

Christ rose from His tomb, rose from the dead

Just as He’d once prophetically said

Later appeared to the twelve, less one

Body glorified, yet the pierced Son,

After a lengthy, forty-day count

Returned to God from a special mount

Angel messengers told gazing men

Jesus will, in fact, so come again.

His return is the saint’s high, grand hope

As society slides down sin’s slope.

– eab, 2/27/18

Tit 1.4

“Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and

commandments of men, that turn from the truth.”

1.) HOW often do you talk to God? 2.) WHAT do you talk to Him about? 3.) WHEN do you talk with God?

4.) WHERE do you talk with Him? 5.) WHY do you talk to God? 6.) HOW easy is it for you to talk to God? [Questions posted to help – answer only to yourself.]

Mat 10.1 + + + +

Mat 10.1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to HEAL all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. (emphasis added)

Don’t be too concerned about the deeds/words for which you’ll be remembered. For one thing, none of us will be remembered long. (Quick, without looking it up, name your four (4) great grandfathers.) The short time we are remembered, may well be for our love for “x” “y” “z” rather than some ideal we pushed. (Will that first love be our Love for God?)

– eab, 1/8/18

“…blessed to discover a people…who do not want to be entertained with cheap programs & silly plays in the church, a people hungry for the bread of life…”

– T M Anderson, /Prayer Availeth Much/

What appears to man to be

A defeat on rugged tree,

Was the triumph of all time and space.

He died – that’s to be sure

But arose to ever endure;

Thus saving the whole human race.

– eab, 2/27/05

Act 10.34

“Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:”

“Whew, I got it read – my chapter a day, to keep the devil away.” Admittedly there are rushed AMs or days when an alarm fails. But make those the exceptions. By retiring a bit earlier you will be able to spend quality time with the timeless Book. Feed on the Word: if you need the Milk of the Word use that, if you’re able to chew the Meat of the Word do that. Please, my Friend do not shorten your time with the Holy Bible.

Mat 9.33 + + + +

Mat 9.33

“And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marveled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.” [emphasis added]

“Man of God” – is the highest title on earth. A very small number of men (OT, NT, or since) have been truly “men of God.” If it is true & the man cannot “be bought,” wonderful!  If a supposed “man of God” succumbs to pressure from peers, denominational leaders, or church boards, after God & His Word directed him, he doesn’t deserve the title.

– eab, 2/26/18

“No person has such a full view of his own astonishing weakness

as does the holy man.”

– H A Baldwin, /Holiness & the Human Element

JESUS

You are more wonderful than human pen can define,

Beyond the description of the longest, good, inked line,

Majestically huge, yet IN this unworthy heart of mine.

Jesus, Precious Jesus.

Gal 4.16

“Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?”

Many readers made a second trip to the altar (church, camp, convention) & received what you claimed was the Holy Spirit. Don’t throw away your confidence (unless you need to) but allow a little questioning. Is this “second work” working? Are “…Love, Joy, Peace…(Gal 5.22) evident in your life? Would your wife/husband or child/parent say so? Please friend, the question at death’s door will deal much more (IMO) with what is “working” than some ancient moment when it supposedly started.

Mat 8.16 + + + +

Mat 8.16

“When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word and HEALED all that were sick:” (emphasis added)

A man who loves God may feel urged to warn against modern trends. If you feel you do-not-need his warning It Might Be Best if you do not oppose them. Your wife, son, or a new convert may need the very warning that irked you a little. Be careful. Your open, verbose opposition may harm the spiritual progress of a dear loved one.

Weigh In

We humans have our scale

Which we use, without fail,

And /know/ that it’s right.

But God has the final say,

In what things /really/ weigh,

Weigh, in His all-wise sight.

Rev 1.19

“Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are,

and the things which shall be hereafter”

Does your preacher’s life-style (muscle car he drives on his day-off, golf-game he adroitly plays, etc.) make you wish you /could be/ a minister? (There’s a time to relax, don’t get me wrong, but are we seeing an abundance of easy-living-preachers?) Or does his life with less style & more humble ways make you say, “I hope God never calls me to preach”?

Mat 24.4 + + + +

Christ (& His enabled disciples) HEALED many afflicted souls.

Mat 4.24 “And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatic, and those that had the palsy; and he HEALED them.” [emphasis added]

“With malice toward none” with sympathy were due, eab (who seldom responds to post criticism) will state 1.) I do not have all the answers, nor does anyone responding to the post, nor any psychotherapist/counselor. 2.) I see many have imbibed what society/schools want you to believe (1st that psychotherapy is “science” & 2nd “science” is the answer). 3.) At the end of the trail, I don’t have to be more right than you, you don’t have to be more right than me. But God help you & me to read & apply His eternal-Word absolutes.

John Bunyan

There was a man, Bunyan by name,

Twelve years imprisoned – England’s shame.

Heb 10.14

“For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”

Young lady – that chap you’re “dying” to date – does he read? A non-reading dad may make a possible future son think reading isn’t manly & therefore shun it. If you’re sure he has little-to-no- interest in reading, let him pass – you want a man who’ll take his kiddies on his knee & read to them. You really do.

Rev 1.7 + + + +

Rev 1.7

“…He cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and

they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him.”

God, I’d say, is pleased when we “read” nature & thus see His Artistry. Pleased when we “read” saints & thus see His Life in them.  But possibly most pleased when we “read” His letters (they are to us) & thus realize His love in His Book.

The purpose of God is to make you holy.”

GOD MADE SEX

The politically left-leaning crowd,

Is sinfully, smugly proud,

Of the corner they think they hold on sex.

They revel in sexual pleasures,

Purposely transgressing standard measures,

(Claiming the “concave” is “convex.”)

The left down-dreading crowd,

Ignores sexual-disease’s shroud,

With full chambers, playing roulette.

But thinking all along,

They invented sex’s simple song,

Promiscuity, they do not regret;

Unmindful that the God they love-to-hate,

Is/was never at loss nor late,

He – God invented female and male.

God, did man a joy provide,

An opposite-sex wife at his side,

“Married sex” makes others pale.

– eab, 2/23/09

Mar 13.13

“…ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but

he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”

P C (political correctness) is preparing the world for the anti-christ. As truly as Christ is coming, the anti-christ is coming.  PREPARE.  Prepare to rejoice with Christ.  Prepare to reject the anti-christ.  And – prepare so you are not surprised which one comes first (2Th 2.3).

FOR THE LOVE OF

Looking for the final reason?

Greed is the cause of high treason.

Bad men pimp and woman so sin

Much money is to be gained within.

Trying to robbery understand

‘Cause man loves money more than man.

Money’s the cause (found bye-n-bye)

That man will tell a “bold-face” lie.

Know the reason for horse betting?

It’s a way of money getting.

The greed for money’s my guess

You’ll find a basement printing press.

Easy money is the sad cause

Men sell a product with bad flaws.

Connived religion also makes

Money for religious fakes.

Some will a baby place for sale

Trade money for its coo or wail.

Some have actually faked a wreck

To claim a big insurance check.

Another money-making trick

Sell booze, which makes men deathly sick.

People will terminate a life,

Making money with pill, gun, knife.

Put out a contract for a kill?

Give enough money, someone will.

Money’s behind some “Bible” buys

Copyright the Book? “That’s cheap guys.”

Government funds involve killing

False patriotism’s too willing.

Riots, street violence, those who lute,

“The love of money is the root.”

– eab, 2/22/11

A crawling child puts many things in his mouth. As we mature we learn to test other ways. I cannot urge you too strongly – Learn to discern. Learn to test/question everything (except God’s Word). Yes, I mean everything. Use all your senses & use common sense. Does this action, habit, life-style, schooling, government decision, new trend, theory, factoid make sense? How does it stand with the Word?

– eab, 2/22/18

“…The Roman system encouraged [senses] with its appeal to formulas, rituals, architecture, artwork, vestments, mystical sounds, candles…”

– John A Bjorlik, Berean Call

Man’s “spin” (on x, y, z) may not be a sin, but you need to realize it /was/ purposely done. It was done to make money, make a name, make a laugh, make…etc. Not a sin perhaps, but earthy & therefore of little long-range value.

– eab, 2/22/18

Mat 5.21a & 22a

“Ye have heard that it was said…But I say unto you…”

Mat 5.27a & 28a

“Ye have heard…But I say unto you…”

Non-believers will name God when it suits their secular purposes – do not be fooled by an occasional reference. Saints name God in their every day walk of life – not just when He happens to fit the moment. He is Father & much respected/loved for His Filial position.

Common Rod + + + +

To the sinner (who is very much “at home” in the world), the saint (to whom “this world is not my home”) is written off as unimportant. The saint is ignored & when not ignored he/she is seen as amusing or is even mocked.  The saint with God’s grace can handle this.  He knows the end is coming & “the meek shall inherit the earth.”

– eab, 7/28/16

“Common” Rod

Moses had a famous rod,

Ordinary “pole” – – – till God

Blessed it in the hand of Moses,

Ending all that God opposes.

“Common” becomes great at God’s nod!

DISCERNMENT

We’re all traveling a road of no return.

We all need wisdom to discern

The right from the left, the wrong from the right;

To avoid tripping in the gathering night.

The worst form of air pollution is audible cursing. It contaminates the speaker’s immediate atmosphere, is unpleasant to those who have to hear, and many times it’s associated with anger. But this air pollution does not remain on earth. God knows about it too.

“There is nobody of literature in the world which enjoys such a wealth of good textual attestation as the New Testament.”

– F. F. Bruce

One of the worst problems with the truck-load of “bible translations” is how they have hurt Bible Memorization. With a new “translation” appearing every “whip-stitch” one cannot keep changing his memorization. Please – even if you “must” read some lesser version – do all your memorization from the Classic KJB. You will not have to worry about It changing.

Be very careful what “media” you defend as a means of “spreading the Gospel.” Christ used words. His Father used words.  The Holy Spirit used words. It could be argued God chose His “media” for spreading the Good News when He inspired “…it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe” (1Co 1.21).  (Modern “churches” may employ “christian” rock, stage actors, film, clowns, ventriloquists, comedians, sports/hollywood “stars” etc. to draw crowds – do not assume Christ is in any of this – the antichrist may be readying his false “church” via carnal attractions.)

I agree that there are probably many men who live better than their acquired theology. God knows their hearts. But it’s dangerous for “holiness men” to assume /they/ know, decide _who_ these men are & use them in holiness circles. There’s a huge difference between allowing such in our minds (1st sentence above) & bringing them in to speak to our people. Use Holiness Men.

Noble Notes

Trees and dogs both have bark.

Both can be rough “in the dark.”

By the bark you wish to slide.

The world for centuries was blessed with the power of Work Horses. Their care & feeding, training & reproducing were tremendous blessings to the men who worked them & the huge number of mouths they fed. They Were Productive! By sad contrast, other men trained War Horses. They were taught to go into battle. Many lived only a short time & died amidst the noise, blood, & powder of battle. They Were Destructive! Give me the Work Horse, any time.

In Charge + + + +

Salvation separates us from the world. Growth & sanctification widen the disconnection. Wisdom & discernment help us remove further from, & stay separate, from the world, including the worldly church.  – eab, 2/27/17

IN CHARGE

God was in charge the original Day One

When He spoke light in (without the sun)

And He’ll be in charge in the final day

When kingdoms crumble, the Stone has full sway!

– eab, Feb.  2007

Books are quite easily divided into fiction & non-fiction. This basic division gets blurred as soon as we consider films. A film may portray a century or several centuries ago & seem factual when in reality it’s only a few months old & may not be based on reality. Likewise, a film may supposedly be a century into the future which we know is not true. Question – How much falseness are we willing, even LOVING to accept? Or how much Truth are we willing to forgo?

– eab, 2/28/17

“The Bible is the cause of all the troubles in the church.”

– Dr. Usinger, one of Luther’s teachers, while still in the Roman system

Sadly the church today has two problems. We have men in leadership who are shallow. (We’re perhaps all more shallow than we realize L.) Related directly to this, is our lack of discernment. Our failure at discerning has increased this shallowness. Men & women of deep prayer & keen observation are needed for us to again have churches in close relationship with Christ.

– eab, 3/29/17

Rev 1.11

“I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and,

What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches…”

Pretend #1 Pretend I’m a “rich uncle” & you’re a niece. In the scenario, I’ve never had a child; love isn’t strong but I’ve a degree of tolerance for nieces/nephews. Though childless I’ve developed ideas of how youth should be educated. You approach for a school loan. As the one handing out $, don’t be surprise if I ask what/how you’re going to study. Or that I try to persuaded you to study this (& not that). Don’t be shocked when I suggest text A (& refuse to give money for text B) – after all, it IS my $.

– eab, 4/23/17

Pretend #2 When you find out I gave a cousin more because he did more of my wishes, you’ll perhaps want to line up better next time. Hello? Uncle Sam never has his own kids but he’ll influence through $. Nothing new – nor surprise! Money often has strings, some less visible but strings. Bible colleges should NOT seek government money. If they do, shouldn’t be surprised that Uncle Sam sooner or later influences.
