To be thought of and labeled a “christian” but to purposely not be one, is to be a “double agent.” You are really against Christ. It is totally disrespectful. It is a betrayal to claim to be His yet knowingly not be.

You remember the stage: you had Dad/Mom make a mark on some “hidden” spot showing how tall you were getting. You were recording the “thrill” of growing up. Exciting! Would you want your pastor to have a spiritual growing chart? Are you growing in Christ? Or are you happy to stay small? Not growing & not caring?

The devil feeds the idea of things being cyclical. The round-by-round, yr.-after-yr. activities keep your mind off of eternity. No. Life is linear. You had only one beginning; you have one life, & you will have only one ending. Then you cross death’s threshold. From there you will ascend & perhaps ascend (i.e. get better) forever, or descend to perhaps get worse (without hope) forever. That is not cyclical.
