Jam 2.11

“…Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill,

thou art become a transgressor of the law.”

Christ (Mar10.19, Luk18.20), Paul (Rom13.9) & the Lord’s ½ brother (Jas2.11) do not draw a line between killing a man or killing the human-that-is-you. I see a possibility that suicide will become more accepted by society & sadly by churches (they often mimic society). Don’t ever consider it. You didn’t give yourself life – you haven’t a right to take it. Ask God to help you see what you can do for others, for your church, a nursing home, a soup kitchen, other non-profits. On a lower level, volunteer time at a dog pound or a farm.

“In the judicial sphere…we speak of crime but not of sin. In ethics we speak of good & evil right and wrong but not of sin.  In psychology we speak about abnormalities…but not of sin.”

We all have a (spiritual) father. Either you are “…of your father the devil…” (Joh 8.44) or you can honestly say, “…Our Father which art in heaven…” (Mat 6.9). If you lie, murder, etc you’re doing the lusts of satan. If you seek forgiveness & forgive you’re (in Lord’s Prayer) doing as a child of God. We have a father or Father & we act like him or Him.

SWEET ROOM

There is a place both sour and sweet,

A place where burdens and blessings meet,

A spot you are so glad you “got,”

Where you and God, God and you alone,

Talk, listen, cry, whisper and groan

And leave in victory, the battle fought.

Or marked “continued” to tomorrow renew

Before the sun pops into eastern view.

No “room” is to the saint more sweet

Than were he and God, God and he meet.

Never fear the #13. There were actually 13 tribes (counting the 2 who came from Joseph). When the children of Israel marched around Jericho the wall fell after the 13th round. When Jesus & His disciples walked down the road there were 13 of them. Don’t fear 13 – – – unless you are on satan’s side. – eab, 3/13/18  WP 3/13/18

Mat 6.23

“…If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness,

 how great is that darkness!”

Believer – Don’t allow the world’s fascination with darkness, find a place in your life. God’s first recorded, beautiful words were, “Let there be Light…” (“light” is twice in Gen 1.3). 1188 chapters later He mentions “Light” twice again (so, first & last ch.). Many times between God is associated with Light. By contrast satan’s followers will be cast to “outer darkness” (Mat ch.8,22,25). When we walk toward Christ (Light) our shadow is unseen; its behind us. If (God forbid) we walk away from Christ we walk in our shadow.

“…Sanctification keeps us in that fellowship in Christ…the Christian’s separation from the world until the second coming of Christ…sanctification enables him to abide in Christ to persevere in faith and to grow in love.”

– Dietrich Bonoeffer, fr. his /Cost of Discipleship/
