Rev 1.3

“Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and

keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.”

You’re a fast reader & have duties which afford the luxury of reading. You read an average of 2 books a week. Let’s say you read 50 of 52 weeks. And, let’s allow you to do this 50 yrs. Total? 5,000 books. Think that’s a lot of books? Call your library for their book-count. (Cincy public library, 2012, had 9,000,000 = 1800 life-times). Please be selective what you read – uh, make that very, VERY selective. You have but one (1) life. Read. The. Right. Stuff!

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

Though I give my life at a faster pace,

For Christian education,

Thus causing my wife to need additional grace.

For our financial situation,

Though I yearn for right in the books of youth,

Strong character building,

And spend night and day in proof of truth,

Pursuing, never yielding,

Though I write and read, preparing and teaching,

Properly being critical,

If I do not take heed to my own “preaching”

My life is hypocritical.

Luk 23.45

“And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.”

There is a New Testament. There is an Old Testament. No news here. But have you allowed your mind, your soul to see this real separation? The fact that one is Old, one is New, should puncture our complacency. Christ’s Redemptive Cross separates the two, the rending of the temple veil ends the One (starts the Other), fact the Old centers on Jewish days, New on Christian ways, needs to be grasp anew, afresh. “Lord, open our eyes to Truth.”

“It is impossible to separate doctrine and morality

in the Christian Church.”

– Dietrich Bonoeffer, /Cost of Discipleship/

One day you find out you get to go to Country “X.” Someone has paid your way – imagine that. You start thinking about Country “X” every day (several times a day). You start reading about Country “X.” You want to know more about it, More about its famous citizens, & since it’s a Kingdom, more about its famous King. You begin to learn the language. You, Friend, can go to Heaven. The King’s Son paid your way. How much are you thinking about Heaven? Is your reading increasing your love for the King?
