Rom 12.14

“Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.”

We’re admonished to “Rejoice with them that do rejoice and weep with them that weep” (Rom 12.15). Dear Believer – we need holy discernment at times to know which to do. If rebellious daughter marries an equally strong-headed man – they’d have you rejoice in their wedding. One or both sets of parents are mourning an out-of-God’s-will-union – they’d like you weep with them. We can’t do both & need wisdom.

“Why are men ‘lovers of the world more than lovers of God’

Is it not because they really believe that the world can make them happier than God?”

– John Fletcher, Works vol I

Hopelessness must be awful. Anything worse? Yes – false hope. It is much worse. The chap who’s hopeless may recognize & openly welcome truth when/if it shows up in his life. The one with false hope feels secure in a lie. Therefore he will pass truth by, & die in delusion.

I Don’t Need

I don’t need to live tomorrow

It has yet to fully arrive.

I don’t need to live yesterday

It’s confined to history’s tall “hive.”

It’s mine to live, by grace, today.

Live, and be lovingly alive.

Rom 12.19

“Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves…for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.”

A woman may be a sister, a wife, aunt, grandmother, etc. but whether she is any or all of these, she is a daughter. She’s a daughter, a granddaughter, a great granddaughter back though centuries of time. A woman can be a woman without being many “positions” in the family but she’s first & always a daughter. I was blessed by God to become the dad of two fine daughters.
