Rom 12.2
“…be not conformed to this world: But. Be. Ye. Transformed by the renewing of your mind…”
(emphasis added)
When a church or school has revival, things change! There are New Priorities! Some new things become normal – some old things are banned. “Spring Revival” means little, unless there’s a change!

“…Ardent love cannot but be zealously obedient.”
– John Fletcher, vol 1
BODY GUARD
Mans’ body was made to carry the soul;
Not the mind – as Edison said.
Which I’m sure he found out, since he stepped out,
Leaving the living, for the dead.
Yes, the body was made to carry the soul;
The weak to carry the strong,
The shortest lived, its life to give,
To shelter the one that lives long.

Rom 12.20
“…if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink:
for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.”
New converts struggle separating sin from temptation. We will be tempted as long as we’re in our right mind, in this life. (Jesus was tempted, Heb 4.15.) Having a bad picture flash into mind is not sin – don’t dwell on it. Having a wicked word come to mind is not sin – don’t say it nor allow it to stay. If you used harmful substances a smell/sight may tempt but as long as you don’t yield you’ve not sinned. Sin involves your will. As long as you don’t agree with a pic, word, action you’ve not sinned!

“…Self — the most popular of all the false gods…”
– William Jennings Bryan, /In His Image/
A friend appears to be advancing in his secular job & he’d like you to rejoice with him. But you know (& others?) that when he was on a mountaintop spiritually (in the past) he testified of a call to preach or evangelize. His new position is the opposite of his call. A discerning soul cannot rejoice in such advancement. It may represent his enslavement to “the American dream”.
