Mat 5.48 +

Mat 5.48

“Be ye therefore perfect,

even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”

“God honors faith

because faith honors God.”
– Larry Grile, IHC sermon, April 2006

Do not shy away from the word or concept of “perfect.” “Perfecting” occurs in two verses. “Perfectly” in seven. “Perfected” is in eight verses. And “Perfect” occurs in 94 verses. God is Perfect & has made provision that we be. The adversary of our souls doesn’t want you to believe in, let alone, seek & find a perfect heart. Be Biblical – Be Perfect.

– eab, 12/7/18

“If it doesn’t preach to you,

you can’t preach to them.”

– J Belvin Green, sermon 6/11/98

Christ’s Kingdom

“If my Kingdom were of this world”

Christ is recorded as saying,

My children would have flag unfurled,

Be actually killing, slaying.

His Kingdom is interior;

His victory far superior

To carnal guns of carnal men.

Come. Join Christ – leave the ways of sin.

– eab, 12/7/09

“It is costly because it condemns sin and grace because it justifies the sinner…

Costly grace is the Incarnation of God.”

– Dietrich Bonoeffer, /Cost of Discipleship/

Mal 3.6

“For I am the LORD, I change not…”

What is there about God you’d like to change – if you could? Do you wish He didn’t see all you do? Do you wish He didn’t know all you think? Do you wish He hadn’t written “Whosoever will…”? Do you wish… Friend, if there’s anything that you’d like to change about God, I beg you, examine your heart. Examine it closely. It has a problem. But – submit to God & He can give you a new heart. If I know my soul, I’d change nothing about our Heavenly Father. He’s Perfect.

– eab, 12/7/18

“The actor who had to play the part of pagan gods & heroes, the teacher who was forced to teach pagan mythologies in pagan schools, the gladiator who had to take human life for sport, the soldier who wielded the sword, the policeman, and the judge, all had to renounce their heathen professions if they wanted to be baptized…”

– Dietrich Bonoeffer, /Cost of Discipleship/

Wrong will always have its enemies for God will always have His people, though few by percentages. Right will always have its enemies, until the last sinners die. And – – – since there are more sinners than saints, the enemies of Right out-number the enemies of wrong. Never allow yourself to be persuaded by “majority vote.”

– eab, 12/5/18
