Heb 12.14 +

Heb 12.14

“Follow peace with all men, and holiness,

without which no man shall see the Lord:”

“I’m not preaching holiness because it happens to be in the doctrine of the church to which I belong.”

– H Robb French, 8-Rm.House (sermon)

“I’m not preaching holiness because my father preached…I am preaching holiness from a deep & profound conviction.”
– H Robb French, “8-Rm.House” (sermon)

Clyde D. Bryan said, “A bargain’s not a bargain if you don’t need it.” Dad was right.

The greatest bargain a man can get is Salvation. It is totally Free (when you meet conditions). And, aye, brothers/sisters, we *need* this bargain! Come to Jesus Christ, agree to His reasonable terms & be saved.

-eab, 12/9/18

“…If we walk in the light of justification it will not be long until

the Blessed Holy Spirit will lead us to the light of full salvation.”

– H Robb French, “8-Rm.House” (sermon)

Don’t let us rely on past deeds done,

Or on “righteous” miles already run,

No. Not on anything, under the sun

But solely, only on You, Lord.

May our theology be legit,

And our words upright & “fit,”

And our light brightly lit,

But may we depend on You, Lord

Till someday – You know how soon,

We’ll fly this plane of surf & dune,

To rise above the highest noon,

Because we fully relied on You, Lord.

“It is impossible to separate doctrine and

morality in the Christian Church.”

– Dietrich Bonoeffer, /Cost of Discipleship/

Mat 2.1

“Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea

there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem.”

No one knows “when” Christ was born. “When” includes the month, day of the month, & possibly the year. What we DO know is – He. Was.  Born.  As a young man, not yet 20, I realized the uncertainty of His Birthday & though I didn’t fully like it, I decided to “go with” the-most-likely-not-date of December 25, not because I believed it accurate but because 1.) I KNEW He as born, & 2.) I could not prove any other date or firmly disprove this one.

“Those who are still afraid of men have no fear of God and

those who have fear of God have ceased to be afraid of men.”

– Dietrich Bonoeffer, /Cost of Discipleship/

If you were born with a proverbial “silver spoon…” you may not have (or may not have developed) a spirit of innovation. (Some poor people don’t seem to have it either. L) I was moments ago reminded of how God gave an idea when putting the two posts (on the ground) which match our little porch railing. I’m very grateful for how the Lord has given idea after idea. Many times I didn’t have a project “all-figured-out” but by the time I come to a certain point I see what to do. Praise Him!
