Pro 14.16

“A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil:

but the fool rageth, and is confident.”

“…It [heart purity] is instantaneous in the sense that a marriage is instantaneous.”

– Wm McDonald /The Double Cure/

Jer 14.22 Are there any among the vanities of the Gentiles that can cause rain? or can the Heavens give showers? art not thou he, O LORD our God? therefore we will wait upon thee: for thou hast MADE all these things. – God made Heaven, Earth, World # 26

“Christian perfection is derived & wholly dependent

on the merits of Jesus.”

– Wm McDonald /The Double Cure/

SMALL WORLD

The insects left their eggs on the leaf,

Left them in adolescent relief,

To see the “world at large.”

(“At large” was an acre, if that.)

They danced in the sun, in their own little mist,

Danced to their heart’s delight,

‘Til one little chap heard a sound and hissed

“Death is coming – and it’s coming tonight.”

– eab, Jan. ’01

Joh 3.7

“Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.”

Don’t get the idea that if you die for the “right cause” you go to heaven. The leaders of causes (religious, military, “social justice”) may – knowingly/unknowingly – give you that impression. It is absolutely false. Many a “martyr” is in perdition. The devil doesn’t care for what cause you die, as long as you don’t believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.

– eab, 1/5/19

“I simply taught, preached wrote God’s Word; otherwise I did nothing…the Word so greatly weakened the papacy that never Emperor did such damage to it. I did nothing, the Word did it all.”

– Martin Luther

Team? The word “team” isn’t in the Bible. (Its use in church circles is an indication of how much the world has infiltrated the church.) God the Father, God the Son, & God the Holy Spirit call & use Individuals. We’re not saved as a “team,” we won’t be judged as a “team,” nor go Up or down (for eternity) as a “team.” “…The dead…were judged EVERY MAN according to their works”(Rev 20.13). [emphasis eab]

– eab, 1/6/19

“The most acceptable service we can do & show unto God &,

which alone he desires of us, is that he be praised of us…”

– Martin Luther /Table talk/
