Psa 37.25
“I have been young & now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken,
nor his seed begging bread.”
“Hypocrites prove that godliness is profitable.
Men always counterfeit that which is valuable.”
– George B Kulp /Voice fr. Eternity/
If your work or ministry puts you in contact with older people (strangers to you), allow a suggestion. The first time you need to use their name ask, “What would you like me to call you: ‘Mr. Jones’ ‘Mr. George’ (southern respectful title), ‘George’ or something else?” The source of automatically calling older people by their first name is skewed – they may well prefer a title they’ve been called for decades, not this modern fad. And, let them tell you rather than you asking, “Is it OK if I call you George?” They may not like it, but hesitate to give you their preference & simply nod guessing that’s what you want. A warmer relationship is possible when they feel you respect them.

“Possession does not make you the owner of stolen goods.”

LIVE THIS HOUR
I cannot live tomorrow,
Nor should I even try.
I cannot live yesterday,
It’s gone for aye, bye-bye.
I cannot live the morning,
If it’s already past the noon.
I cannot live the evening,
(unless it comes “real soon.“)
I must live this hour!
Enjoying it, in the Lord,
Must live it in His power,
Through His presence, and His Word.

Psa 32.11
“Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous:
& shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.”
“Joy” & “fun” each have 3 letters. That is about where comparisons end. Joy (fruit of the Holy Spirit) can be quite or exuberant but is always uplifting. You’re definitely better inside & out after a joyful experience. Fun is a cheap substitute but many times is crude, cruel (think unpractical “practical” jokes) & often leaves one disappointed & emotional down.

“Men often take their imagination for their heart &
they believe they are converted as soon as they think of being converted.”
– Blaise Pascal /Pensees/
Worship of the Triune God:
Before the world was – You were.
Everywhere the world is – You are.
When the world’s nothing but memory (if that) –
You will Be, on & on, Eternally! – eab, 1/11/19
“Grace is indeed needed to turn a man into a saint; &
he who doubts it does not know what a saint or a man is.”
– Blaise Pascal /Pensees/
